Domestic Violence

Reliable Domestic Violence Attorney

Living in an abusive situation is terrifying, but know that you're not alone. At Danels & Lardieri, P.A., we draw on years of experience to provide the compassionate, trustworthy legal services you need to keep yourself and your family safe.

Protective Orders & the Court Process

Allegations of domestic violence set off a fairly rapid legal process, with final hearings typically occurring within one week of a temporary protective order being granted. At this hearing, a judge will decide whether to issue a final protective order—which will make it illegal for your alleged abuser to contact you—or if another measure is necessary. If appropriate to your case, the judge will arrange to remove the abusive party from the home, grant custody of children, set a visitation schedule, and establish emergency family maintenance.

Impact on Divorce & Custody

Often times, cases that start out with allegations of domestic violence ultimately resolve through divorce or custody litigation. If one party is found to have committed assault or abuse, it may have a strong influence on the judge's perception of that party, affecting any decisions made regarding:

  • Marital Property Division
  • Child Support
  • Child Custody and Visitation

Spousal Support
